Christ recognizes our need for real food by giving himself to us in the Sacrament of the Eucharist as bread and wine. After being fed here first, St. Jerome's parishioners can in turn feed those who crave both his nourishment and practical care.
St. Jerome's Café is a ministry that serves the poor and needy of our community with a hot meal each Thursday. Established in 1991, the Café, which operates in the Gold Room, serves about 50 people each week. In addition, the students of St. Jerome's School prepare bag lunches for our patrons. The Café operates with six teams, rotating their service every six weeks. Each team is comprised of a leader and servers who serve the meal on Thursdays from 11 to 12:30, a food coordinator who prepares the team's menu and shops for the food, and cooks who prepare the food at home and deliver it to the Café. The Café also has a Pantry Coordinator who oversees our stock of food and supplies. The Café is completely parish-operated and accepts donations of food from those willing to help.
