It is that time of year when the Archdiocese announces new assignments for the priests. After ten years of having the privilege of serving as the pastor of St. Jerome, I am being assigned to a new parish. On July 7, I will become the pastor of Annunciation Parish in Washington, D.C. and the Rev. Matthew Fish will be the pastor here.
I have enjoyed my tenure here at St. Jerome. I’ve told people that in all the places that I’ve been assigned, Hyattsville is the only place that I could see myself choosing to live. I like Hyattsville because it is a walkable community full of interesting people and cultures.
Change is never easy but we trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I will continue to pray for you as I trust you will pray for me.
In Christ, Fr. Scott
