Dear Parents,

My name is Mrs. Heather Campos, and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year.  Your child is in K1, located on the bottom floor, in the last classroom on the left.  I look forward to meeting all of you, and working with you to ensure a GREAT school year for your child!  I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself.

I was a student at St. Jerome’s, as was much of my rather large extended family. My own daughter will be a kindergartener here this year.  During my second year of college I returned to my roots and began working at St. Jerome’s.  Until I graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Early Childhood Education, I worked various positions in the school and the Child Center.  This will be my 13th Kindergarten class.

Mrs. Christie, the K2 teacher, and I have an exciting year planned!  We will be taking our annual field trip to the Pumpkin Farm at the end of October.  We are working on a December field trip as well.  Some time after the New Year we will be visiting the Baltimore Aquarium.  We will discuss an end of the year trip with you at Back to School Night.

On Wednesday, September 17th we will have our Back to School Night.  We would love to meet all of you!!  We will discuss various aspects regarding our program including the best way to schedule times to talk to us, curriculum, field trips, discipline plans, etc.  We will send home more information this week that will hopefully answer any questions you may have about our program.

As parents, you are your child’s first and most important teacher.  My goal is to expand on the wonderful foundation you have given your child to help him/her succeed.  Together, we need to work for the benefit of your child.  I need you to support my academic, homework, and discipline efforts here at school.  In return, I will keep you informed about all aspects of your child’s experiences at school.  With home and school working together, I know your child will be able to reach his/ her best potential!!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Heather Campos
